-Stephanie, Owner & Desginer, In Flower
In Flower is a boutique florist in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, designing one-of-a-kind floral arrangements for people who love color. Stephanie, the owner and floral designer, is the kind of small-business creative whose personality is the brand: warm, joyful, a little playful, with a fierce love of color and a signature disco ball arrangement that her customers travel for.
When Stephanie came to us, she'd built her audience on Instagram and was getting steady local interest, but her existing setup wasn't matching the energy of her actual shop. The website didn't feel like her. The checkout flow was creating friction for both her and her customers. Local delivery, out-of-state shipping, fresh vs. dried — every order required back-and-forth emails to clarify basics like recipient addresses, delivery dates, and gift messages. The site was working, but it was also working her, pulling time and energy away from the actual floral design that was the heart of her business.
We designed and built a custom Shopify store around one principle: let Stephanie's personality lead, and let the systems quietly do the rest.
Key features of this project include:
A homepage that opens with her signature disco ball arrangement, making her bestseller and her brand visible in the first scroll
A wavy header menu, scrolling text marquee, and subtle animations throughout the site, translating her playful Instagram energy into the website
A custom product information form that captures recipient details, gift messages, and delivery dates before checkout, eliminating the email back-and-forth that was eating Stephanie's days
A bespoke shipping and delivery system handling every use case automatically: fresh flowers for local delivery, dried flowers for nationwide shipping, day-specific pickup and delivery, distance-based delivery fees
A custom subscription and local delivery setup designed to scale recurring revenue without scaling Stephanie's admin work
A visual identity throughout the site that mirrors the color, whimsy, and one-of-a-kind feel of her arrangements
THE OUTCOME
✦ A website that finally looks and feels like Stephanie's shop: colorful, playful, and one of a kind
✦ A dramatic reduction in customer service emails, because the site now captures every delivery detail upfront
✦ A checkout system that smoothly handles high order volume days like Mother’s Day, Valentines Day etc, without the usual scramble and a clear, scalable path for her subscription and local delivery revenue going forward
If you're a florist, retail shop, or boutique creative whose website doesn't reflect the personality of your actual business — or whose checkout flow is creating more work than sales — this is exactly the kind of project we love.
